Subsidies and financial aid
Hydro-Québec offers a financial assistance program called LogisVert, which allows Quebec residents to receive a contribution when they install energy-efficient equipment such as high-performance heat pumps. This program is available for houses, condos, plexes, and apartments located in Quebec and served by Hydro-Québec.
Possible grant amounts
Depending on the type of heat pump installed and its performance in cold temperatures, the estimated amount of assistance varies. The LogisVert program offers financial assistance based on the unit's capacity in BTU/h at -8°C, in increments of 1,000 BTU/h.
Here are the general rules of the program:
- Eligible efficient heat pumps must be ENERGY STAR certified (new requirement for installations made from November 26, 2025).
- The subsidy is determined on the date the heat pump is installed.
- The application must be submitted within 9 months of the completion of the work.
- The unit must be new, purchased in Quebec or online from a Quebec company, and installed by a qualified contractor holding an appropriate RBQ license.
Conditions and required documents
For an application to be eligible, you must provide:
- Proof of ownership or eligible dwelling (e.g., municipal tax statement or deed of sale).
- Proof of purchase and installation, including date, company name, RBQ license, description of the heat pump and its characteristics.
- Clear photo of the unit's nameplate showing the make and required numbers.
- Copy of purchase and installation invoices.
